Activities
Each year the District carries out activities to promote conservation in Fayette County.  Some of these include:

  • Assists land users to install conservation practices on their land.  Conservation practices include grass planting, erosion control, water conservation practices and management practices.
  • Recognizes individuals that do outstanding conservation work on their land.
  • Sponsors an annual poster and essay contest for Fayette County students.
  • Provides Soil Stewardship material for distribution to Fayette County citizens through area churches.
  • Provides cost share assistance to land users to install conservation practices, through financial assistance from the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
  • Serves as a voice for local landowners at the state and national level of government regarding private property rights and conservation issues.
  • Sponsors Wildlife, Range and Land Judging Contests for FFA students.
  • Sponsors information tours each year on Pond Management and Range/Pasture Management.
