Each year the District carries out activities to promote conservation in Fayette County. Some of these include:
- Assists land users to install conservation practices on their land. Conservation practices include grass planting, erosion control, water conservation practices and management practices.
- Recognizes individuals that do outstanding conservation work on their land.
- Sponsors an annual poster and essay contest for Fayette County students.
- Provides Soil Stewardship material for distribution to Fayette County citizens through area churches.
- Provides cost share assistance to land users to install conservation practices, through financial assistance from the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
- Serves as a voice for local landowners at the state and national level of government regarding private property rights and conservation issues.
- Sponsors Wildlife, Range and Land Judging Contests for FFA students.
- Sponsors information tours each year on Pond Management and Range/Pasture Management.
